Who are you?
UK Leatherworks was established in 2015 by founder and master craftsman Eleanor Hayes, whose family has practised leatherworking in Somerset for three generations. Our workshop in Bristol combines traditional cobbler’s benches with modern CNC leather cutters and ultrasonic edge bevelers. Each artisan undergoes rigorous apprenticeship, mastering tanning, cutting, skiving, stitching and finishing. We champion sustainability—our leather scraps are recycled into small accessories and our water‑based dyes meet REACH standards. The atelier adheres to ISO 9001 for quality management and Leather Working Group criteria for environmental stewardship. Through collaborations with local fashion schools, we mentor emerging designers and host seasonal exhibitions at Somerset House. At UK Leatherworks, craftsmanship and innovation unite to produce heirloom‑quality pieces.
